POLICY DESIGN JUROR

For a quarter of a century, Christina Melander has promoted, documented, inspired, proven, challenged, experimented with, and trained others in using design as a method for innovation, as a resource for transformation, and as a driver of impact for businesses – and thereby for people and society.

She has worked at the intersection of strategic design, design policy, business development, and innovation, and developed programs and initiatives aimed at both the design sector and businesses across industries. She has advised at policy level and has implemented strategies and policies.

She has led DDC’s initiatives to strengthen an ethical and responsible digital transformation through design, which, among other outcomes, resulted in the development of the Digital Ethics Compass.

She is now pursuing her professional passion: leading DDC’s strategic efforts to document the value of design. She has conducted numerous studies and remains deeply committed to illuminating the competitive value design creates for businesses.

She is an experienced speaker and facilitator who thrives in complex spaces and is unafraid to make decisions. Additionally, she is Chair of the Board at BEDA – the Bureau of European Design Associations – representing design centres and associations across most European countries and is also a member of the Danish Design Council and VL66.
