Steve Cummings

The Caroma Design Team, led by Dr. Steve Cummings has received multiple Good Design Awards over the years, including the coveted Good Design Award of the Year received in 2014 for their Caroma Marc Newson Bathroom Collection. The Caroma Design Team has embedded a design culture into the business, evident by the number of high quality and groundbreaking products designed and developed over the years. Among many design accolades, Steve and the Caroma Design Team were recognised by Good Design Australia as the Good Design Team of the Year in 2019. 

Steve is highly respected amongst the Australian industrial design community. He was made a Fellow of the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) and inducted into the DIA’s Hall of Fame in 2012. He has held senior appointments in the bathroom product design industry and has had long-standing participation in standards development in Australia and internationally since 1981.

A pioneer in sustainable design, Dr Cummings has dedicated himself to developing products that minimise water consumption. He is recognised internationally as an authority in this field.
