BRENDAN HUTCHIESON

Brendan is an accomplished Industrial Designer with 20 years of global experience across the consumer lifestyles, medical, aerospace and architecture domains. He specialises in Creative Direction programs and systems-level design for large clients and complex portfolios.  

Brendan’s career started at Catalyst Design Group in Melbourne in 2002.  From there, Brendan won an international design competition to join European design firm, Pilotfish, in Taipei. 

He worked on over 50 projects in his first year, winning several iF and Red Dot awards during his tenure.  In 2006, Brendan joined PriestmanGoode in London, designing a modular floorplan for Embraer’s Lineage 1000 aircraft.  

In 2007, he found a home at Philips Design in Hong Kong leading a team of award-winning designers to design lifestyle-focused headphone collections. 

In 2013, Brendan joined Teague Aviation in Seattle as Creative Director for Boeing’s 777X interior program. Brendan left Teague in 2015 to start Play&Co Creative Group with his wife, Karen. 

With offices in Melbourne, Australia and Portland, Oregon; Play&Co helps start-ups to Fortune 500s grow strategically by design.  Clients include Philips, HP, Audible, Thyssenkrupp, Ergobaby, Meta and Disney.
