Associate Professor Douglas Tomkin was head of the School of Design at UTS from 2004 to 2008 prior to moving to the Designing Out Crime Centre where he has completed projects for the City of Sydney, NSW Housing, Counter Terrorism Police Unit, and NSW Transport corporations.

He also acts as an expert witness for design related legal cases and leads a number of design research projects including EEG monitoring equipment and medical devices to protect against viral infection.

Douglas also lectures on design matters in Asia and the UK.
