THE PINNACLE OF DESIGN EXCELLENCE

The 2024 Australian Good Design Awards Ceremony is a highlight on the Australian design calendar, where more than 1000 designers, architects, engineers and entrepreneurs gather to honour the pinnacle of both Australian and international design.

This year’s event, hosted by the esteemed Gold Logie Winner Larry Emdur, promises to be an unforgettable evening celebrating The Design Effect – the theme for this year’s Awards.

Special guests include Dr. Thomas Garvey, President of the World Design Organization (WDO) and other design and industry dignitaries.

Event Highlights:

Australian Good Design Awards: Celebrating the Australian Good Design Award Winners and Gold Winners and on-stage presentations of the coveted Best in Class Award Winners – awarded to just one stand-out project in each of the 31 Design Categories.

Special Accolades: Each year Good Design Australia presents a number of esteemed accolades, including the Australian Design Prize, Australian Good Design Team of the Year, Women in Design Award, Indigenous Design Award, and the Michael Bryce Patron’s Award.

Top Honors: Announcement of the Australian Good Design Award for Sustainability and the highly coveted Australian Good Design Award of the Year, representing the highest design honour in Australia.

Rachel Wye, Managing Director of Good Design Australia, emphasises the event’s significance: “The Awards Ceremony brings together the best and brightest in our design community and celebrates the people, projects and design processes that drive our profession and our world forward.”

The Australian Good Design Awards Jury completed a rigorous evaluation process in Sydney, selecting the most exemplary projects for this year’s Awards.

“The design innovations presented this year are transformative, and we look forward to shining a light on these influential design stories that are helping to shape a better future”, states Ms. Wye.

Event Schedule:

• 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Pre-Ceremony Trophy Presentations (Award Winners Only) – Winners will receive their Official Australian Good Design Award Trophies and Certificates. Official photographers will capture these moments at the designated media walls.
• 5:45 PM: General Doors Open – All guests are welcome.
• 6:15 PM: Ceremony Commences – The formal program includes the announcement of Special Accolades, Best in Class Awards, and the Australian Good Design Award of the Year.  Guests will indulge in a three-course dinner, entertainment and flowing drink service throughout the evening.
• 10:00 PM: Formalities Conclude and After Party Commences.
• Midnight: Event Concludes

Dress Code:

Black-tie. Dress for a red-carpet arrival and a glamorous evening.
